Knee Arthrodesis
Indications:
-
failed knee replacement (most common)
-
uncontrollable septic arthritis with complete joint destruction
-
young patient with severe articular & ligamentous damage
-
neuropathic joint disease
Contra-indications:
-
bilateral knee disease
-
ipsilateral ankle or hip disease
-
severe segmental bone loss
-
contralateral leg amputation
Ideal Position:
-
10-15 degrees flexion
-
0-7 degrees valgus
